As the investigation into the mysterious deaths in the Dominican Republic continues, “Shark Tank” star, Barbara Corcoran says her brother recently died under similar circumstances in April.
According to TMZ, Corcoran said her brother, John, traveled to D.R. with a friend in April. But, sometime during the trip, the friend, who was staying in the same suite, found the 60-year-old’s body in the room.
Although Corcoran was told her brother died of a heart attack, she said no one knows exactly what happened since there’s been no autopsy. However, the incident is eerily similar to three other cases of mysterious deaths in the country.
According to the publication, since June 2018, six U.S. tourists have been found dead in the country, two at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Punta Cana and four at the Bahia Principe resorts. Three of the incidents were said to be due to heart attacks, but one also listed pulmonary edema on the death certificate.
Meanwhile, the couple from Maryland was said to have had respiratory failure and pulmonary edema. However, the cause of the death of the sixth tourist remains unknown.
In addition to the deaths, which are under investigation, a couple claimed to have been violently ill during their stay at the Bahia Principe resorts, while two others complained of mold and insecticides at the resort.
