“Basketball Wives” star Jennifer Williams is facing an unexpected setback in her wedding plans. Her fiancé, Christian Gold, has been sentenced to jail just a week before their scheduled destination nuptials.
Christian was taken into custody on Friday morning in DeKalb County, Georgia, due to a probation violation. Initially, he was sentenced to 15 days behind bars. However, the judge showed some leniency, allowing Christian to serve only two days in jail for now. After his temporary release, he will be able to attend their wedding on September 14 in Paris. Once the wedding is over, Christian must return to DeKalb County to serve the remaining 13 days of his sentence.
This comes following Christian’s probation violation, which stemmed from a 30-month prison stint for a false imprisonment charge. Since his release in 2018, he has been on probation, and authorities discovered he had left the country for trips to Italy and Switzerland in July without permission.
Their social media activity inadvertently tipped off his probation officer, leading to the violation. Additionally, Christian failed to pay $12,500 in restitution to his victim, which he settled during his court appearance.
For now, the couple is on track to marry in Paris, but a honeymoon will have to wait, as Christian will return to serve out the rest of his sentence.
