Someone submitted this blog and I thought it would be a great conversational piece for those of us that caught the premiere of Basketball Wives LA this week. Check it out below:
“As I was watching Basketball Wives LA last night, I had no choice to be stuck on a few opinions that stood out to me during the show. During the first few scenes, Draya and Malaysia had a conversation about their men and infidelity. Draya expressed how she would be devastated if she found out her man was cheating on her. Malaysia, on the other hand, was rather calm. Even saying that she lets her man “do him” as long as she doesn’t find out. New cast member, British, also felt the same way about her relationship with her new fiance. As sad as it may sound, I agree with with Malaysia. True, cheating is dead wrong HOWEVER I think we have all come to the conclusion that No Man can be faithful. Loyal? Definitly! But faithful, you’re better asking him to go with you shopping. (And we all know that men hate going shopping with women). Men are simple. It doesn’t take much to please them. The only downside to that is it’s guaranteed that they are going to do whatever it is they want to do.So, what do we as women do? Do we yell, fight, cuss, tell him how much of an ain’t shit and sorry ass nigga he is? Give him the silent treatment for about one and a half to two weeks, delete AND block his number THEN get back with him like nothing ever happened? Or, do we just relax and let our men “dibble and dabble?”Just tell me if I’m wrong… “
Do all men cheat? I don’t think so. Do most men? It sure seems that way. Personally, I’ve always felt that it is a case by case basis when it comes to cheating. It should be known immediately what side of the fence you are on in regards to your relationship and your expectations and you should stick to them. However, do we? Not always. That’s when things get complicated and we find ourselves in the worst positions.
Let’s take Gabrielle Union or Eudoxie. You’re in a long committed relationship with a man. You know he’s going to cheat, but he’s dumb enough to have unprotected sex and get the girl pregnant. Then what? Do you get mad or do you just deal? I mean, you DID give him the okay to cheat. It’s far too complicated. What we DO know is that men will do what you allow them to do so whatever you choose, make sure you are happy with that decision.
