Over the weekend, two NFL players were arrested following an altercation outside of a bar.
According to reports, the initial incident occurred around 1 a.m. Sunday morning outside of Sharkey’s Funhouse in Cedar Falls, Iowa. At that time, officials witnessed commotion outside of the establishment where Bears cornerback Deiondre’ Hall was allegedly seen in the middle of a crowd ‘‘flailing his arms and yelling profanity at bar staff and patrons.” Source say a fight broke out outside of the bar after the athletes were denied entry into the 18-and-over nightclub.
In an effort to defuse the situation, police grabbed a hold of Hall, pulling him from the crowd. Instead, the interaction went from bad to worse with Hall. Apparently, after his physical removal from the crowd, he became resistant. According to the police report, Hall refused to take a breathalyzer and declined to answer the police’s questions. They said, he yelled at them and even spat in their faces, before trying to resist arrest. He even refused to get into the police car, which led officials to taser his leg for more corporation.
At the time of the incident, Hall was with his former Northern Iowa teammate and Packers cornerback Makinton Dorleant, who reportedly tried to grab hold of Hall, despite police’s orders to stand back.
Both men were charged with interference. In addition, Hall was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct by fighting. He posted bail early Sunday morning.
