An adored Atlanta restaurant owner was violently gunned down on Tuesday in a brazen afternoon ambush.
Chad Dillon, owner of The Boiler Seafood restaurant in Buckhead, was reportedly riding in his Rolls Royce sometime around 4:00 p.m. For reasons unknown, someone opened fire on Dillon in his vehicle at 480 John Wesley Dobbs Ave NE in the Old Ward neighborhood. When police responded to the scene, they located Dillon suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, which sadly claimed his life.
His attorney, Malcolm Conner, confirmed to Atlanta News First that Dillon was the murder victim. According to Conner, the 33-year-old was planning to open a new Jamaican restaurant in the neighborhood. In addition to The Boiler Seafood, he was co-owner of The Seafood Menu with rapper Lil Baby, which opened in July 2023. That same month, Dillon made headlines when The Boiler Room crossed the $8 million mark after opening its doors in December 2020. His establishment was Buckhead’s first seafood boil restaurant, and in a chat with TravelNoire, Dillon credited his success with learning the business and remaining present in all aspects of his eatery.
“I am a thinker and innovator, so even without a culinary background, I enjoy finding voids in the business market and creating solutions; creating restaurant concepts from ideation to execution, coming up with new menu items, and creating amazing customer experiences. I’m also very hands-on,” he told the outlet in May 2022.
As of now, police have not released any information regarding possible suspects in the case.
