Ben Affleck sent a video to a woman who unmatched with him on the dating app Raya.
Swipe left, right, up, or down. But don’t take it personally; it’s only dating apps. Well, that seems to be a hard pill for some to swallow, especially if you’re an actor, producer, and screenwriter like Ben Affleck.
This week, a woman named Nivine Jay went viral on TikTok after she claims Affleck sent her a direct message on Instagram asking her why she unmatched him on the app. According to Insider, the app is known for its celebrity users.
Jay explained her reason for unmatching, saying it was because she thought the profile was fake. “Thinking of the time I matched with Ben Affleck on Raya and thought it was fake, so I unmatched him, and he sent me a video on Instagram,” she wrote in her caption on her video. The video then shows a man who appears to be Affleck asking, “Nivine, why did you unmatch me? It’s me.”
The video garnered more than four million views and over 525,000 likes on TikTok. The video went viral after she posted it on Twitter. There are no confirmed details on whether or not Jay and Affleck actually did match on the app.
People commented on the video, sharing their attraction to Affleck. “The way he said ‘it’s me,’ my soul would have left my body,” one commenter said. Jay replied, “confirmed my soul did leave my body.”
Wanting to know how you can get on the exclusive app? According to Insider, only about 8 percent of the people who apply get accepted onto the platform. And before you can apply, a user must go through an extensive application process. According to The New York Times, the likes of big stars on the app include Drew Barrymore, Amy Schumer, John Mayer, Trevor Noah, and more.
Affleck reportedly hopped on the app following his divorce from actress Jennifer Garner in 2018.
