The BET Award 2022 wrapped up Sunday night from Los Angeles and it was filled with show-stopping performances, jaw-dropping surprises and a star-studded tribute to Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Things kicked off with Lizzo performing her hit single About Damn Time and you know she brought her flute along. Her performance was followed by a grand entrance from the talented Taraji P. Henson, who was back this year as the award show’s host. Other highlights of the show included Jack Harlow and Brandy uniting on stage, Janelle Monae, calling out the Supreme Court, Kanye presenting Diddy with his Lifetime Achievement Award, plus more.

Jack Harlow and Brandy Make Peace on Stage
After bringing out Lil Wayne to perform ‘Poison” off his new album, Jack Harlow then surprised the audience again by uniting with Brandy to perform her remix to Harlow’s viral hit, First Class. It’s safe to say, all is well between the two. Brandy’s rendition came in response to Harlow’s viral Hot 97 interview in which he revealed he did not know Ray J and Brandy are siblings.
Mariah Carey Joins Latto for “Big Energy” Remix
Sunday night was definitely a night of surprises! After performing her hit ‘It’s Givin,” Latto brought out Mimi who hit the stage with those vocals we can never get enough of.
Billy Porter Pays Homage to Ball Culture
Closing out Pride Month, Billy Poter hit the stage with dancers: Dashaun Wesley, Shannon Balenciaga, Dominique Jackson, Shaun Ross, and Kevin Prodigy in a tribute to Ball culture. We give the performance a 10!
Star-Studded Tribute to Sean “Diddy” Combs
Legendary artists Jodeci, Mary J Blige, Lil Kim, The Lox, Busta Rhymes, Faith Evans, Maverick City Music choir, Bryson Tiller and Shyne graced the stage for a medley of some of Bad Boy’s greatest hits in honor of Diddy receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Ye Makes a Surprise Appearance
Kanye West, who now simply goes by Ye, made a surprise appearance to present Diddy with his award. During his lengthy speech, the Yeezy founder shared how Diddy inspired him throughout his career.
