Beyonce and Adele Leading Nominees for 2016 MTV Video Music Awards

Queen Bey and Adele are officially the two leading nominees for the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards, airing live on Sunday, August 28th  from New York’s Madison Square Garden. Beyonce leads all contenders with a career high 11 nominations for her visual masterpiece “Lemonade.” Adele isn’t far behind with 8 nominations for her third studio album “25.”  Beyonce and Adele nominations are followed by Drake with 6 nom’s for “Hotline Bling” and Rihanna with 4.

Adele surprisingly received 7 nominations alone for her “Hello” video, which will compete with Beyoncé’s “Formation” Drake’s “Hotline Bling” Justin Bier’s “Sorry” and Kanye West’s “Famous” for the Video of the Year prize.

All nominees were unveiled Tuesday via Facebook Live Broadcast in New York, during which the Video of the Year nominees were revealed with a street mural.

Starting Tuesday, fans can vote for Video of the Year, Best Male Video, Best Female Video and Best Long Form Video at vma.mtv.com.
