You can be the hottest in the game, but if you’re bearing Beyonce’s name, you better make sure you get the ‘okay’ first.
Beyonce is suing feyonceshop.com for selling merchandise that bears a striking resemblance to her brand. Not only is the spelling ‘Feyonce’ a dead ringer for Bey’s name, many of the items look exactly like Beyonce’s 2013 album cover — font, color and all.
Beyonce’s team is coming after the site, demanding they cease and desist the sale of all merchandise using Feyonce. The company currently uses Feyonce on roughly 99.9% of their inventory. This includes t-shirts, sweatshirts, tank tops and coffee mugs. They even have a mug that reads “He put a ring on it,” an ode to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies.”
Even worst, the company is trying to trademark Feyonce and Queen Bey isn’t having it, claiming it will confuse fans and damages her brand.
Sorry Feyonce, if you liked it then you should have gotten permission for it.
