On Tuesday, Beyoncé posted a touching message to Meghan Markle, who spoke of mistreatment rooted in racism by the Royal family during her sit down with Oprah Winfrey.
“Thank you Meghan for your courage and leadership. We are all strengthened and inspired by you,” Beyoncé wrote on her website.
Bey’s well wishes were echoed across social media, with viewers showering Markle with kind words and well wishes after she spoke out for the first time since backing away from the powerful British family with her husband, Prince Harry. One of the most shocking revelations in the interview was that someone from the Royal Family was concerned about how dark Markle’s and Harry’s son would be since Markle is biracial. She also revealed that the young family was denied security for themselves and their son. She also discussed how the mistreatment took a toll on her mental health while pregnant.
Following the revelations from the interview, Buckingham Palace released a statement on behalf of the Queen. They said that the racism allegations were being “taken very seriously.”
