Beyond Meat and PepsiCo are about to launch their first collaborative product, meatless jerky.
Veganism and plant-based living are becoming more desirable, and companies are trying to jump on the growing movement. On Wednesday, Beyond Meat, which is known for its vegan-friendly products. PepsiCo announced they would be launching a meatless jerky as part of their PLANeT partnership, CNBC reports.
The two companies announced their joint venture a little more than a year ago. Together, they agreed on a deal to create plant-based drinks and snacks.
CNBC reports the jerky, which comes in three flavors: original, hot and spicy, and teriyaki, will hit grocery stores sometime this month. Back in February, Beyond Meat CEO Ethan Brown hinted at its partnership with PepsiCo.
“We have a major product, which I actually have in my hands right now and I’ve been snacking on during the call,” Brown told analysts, CNBC reports. “That took an enormous amount of time and energy to get ready, and it’s a fantastic product.”
