Bia is now following in Cardi B’s footsteps in bringing attention to the death of Lauren Smith-Fields.
According to TMZ, the family’s attorney Darnell Crosland says Bia is helping by bringing awareness to the case with her platform.
The rapper believes celebrities have a duty to speak out on social justice. Bia has since met up with Crosland to review the case and offer support. However, she hasn’t been in contact with the family yet because she wanted to give them time to grieve.
Lauren Smith-Fields was found deceased in her apartment after going on a date in December. The two met on the dating app Bumble, and shortly after their date, Lauren was dead. Earlier this week, the medical examiner confirmed that Lauren died of an accidental overdose. Many called the incident foul play, and with the help of Bia and Cardi B, authorities have decided to open up a criminal investigation.
