The Transportation Security Administration is set to announce that the federal public transportation mask mandate will be extended for at least another 30 days.
According to CNN, an administration official has confided that the decision was based on guidance from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
This mandate is one of the last remaining broad requirements that push Americans to wear masks in public places. The mandate applies to mass transportation including planes, trains, buses and hubs like airports and train stations.
The requirement, which was set to expire on March 18th will now extend to April 18th and will be set for further review by the CDC during that time, the official said.
