#BigDaddyKane is rightfully a legend in the rap game, which is why he is being awarded the key to Brooklyn and will be inducted into the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s Celebrity Path.
Big Daddy Kane is referred to as one of the most influential rappers in hip-hop. The lyricist hails from Bedford-Stuyvesant and in addition to being one of the most well-known spitters in the industry. He has also dropped a few gems to #JayZ while serving as his mentor.
His long his list of awards include a Grammy he won in 1991 for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group for his contribution to Quincy Jones’ collaborative track “Back on the Block.” And along with rapping, he also has a knack for acting, as he’s been featured on several shows and films like Posse, Meteor Man and Law and Order: SVU, according to Vibe.
Kane’s rap name will be engraved on the path that travels from the Eastern Parkway to Flatbush and down to Washington avenues. Kane is also celebrating the 30th anniversary of his debut album, “Long Live the Kane.”
