The BIG3 has officially partnered with the producers of “Big Brother” for it’s upcoming reality-show surrounding its quarantined basketball tournament, according to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports.
Since the Coronavirus epidemic has suspended every major league sporting event, the 3-on-3 league is looking to capitalize on the lack of sports, hoping to provide some much needed athletic relief to basketball fans around the country.
The BIG3 reality series, which was concocted by founders Jeff Kwatinetz and Ice Cube, will consist of 16 players, some of them possibly being female players. The players will all be quarantined in the same Los Angeles-area home for the duration of the three-week tournament. Players are required to test negative for the Coronavirus before going under quarantine.
The games and the day-to-day lives of players and officials will be captured to add to the storylines of those involved in the tournament.
The series plot already has some similarities to the CBS hit “Big Brother,” which completed its 21st season at the end of last summer. In fact, CBS is tentatively considering naming the show “Big Brother: BIG3,” with an expectant debut as early as the first week of May.
