Bill Cosby is out of prison and back in his bag after being released on a technicality. The comedian is taking aim at the state of Pennsylvania, believing that he is owed money for what he calls a wrongful imprisonment.
The pudding-pop Don is leaning heavily on a Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf proposal that would pay those who have been wrongfully convicted a lump sum of money. Cosby’s representative, Andrew Wyatt, did not disclose a specific amount that the comedian should be paid but stated that a settlement is warranted.
“Mr. Cosby was given an unwanted two-year and ten-month vacation that he never ask for. His constitutional rights were abolished, his due process was stripped away from him,” Wyatt attested. He went on to add that the 84-year-old is due “millions and millions of dollars.”
In late June, Cosby was released from prison after being sentenced to a three to a ten-year sentence in 2018 for drugging and sexually abusing women. Pennsylvania Supreme Court stated that District Attorney Kevin Steele was obligated to stand by a previous promise not to charge Cosby as part of a plea deal. Wyatt is now calling for Steele and Judge Steven O’Neill to “resign effective immediately.”
