Bill O’Reilly Says Slaves Who Built White House Were “Well Fed And Had Decent Lodging”

During First Lady Michelle Obama’s speech at the Democratic National Convention on Monday, she dropped what was surprisingly a bombshell for many Americans– the fact that the White House was built by slaves.

Now, though it may seem like common sense and common knowledge given the time frame, as it turns out, many adult American’s had absolutely no knowledge of this.

Fox News commentator took to his show, the O’Reilly Factor, to comment on the claims. O’Reilly made sure to validate the First Lady’s comments by assuring his viewers that the White House was indeed built by slaves, but his comments didn’t come without controversy. O’Reilly went on to state that the slaves who forcibly built one of America’s most famous landmarks by hand without pay, were “well-fed and had decent lodging.” O’Reilly also stated that there were “others as well” involved in the building of the White House.

At first, second, and third glance it looks as if O’Reilly is attempting to justify slavery, but I could be wrong. What are your thoughts?
