Billie Eilish has found herself in hot water over an allegedly resurfaced TikTok video. The 19-year-old singer appears to mock several ethnic accents and utter the word “chink”, an Asian slur.
According to The New York Post, a TikTok user named @lcxvy posted the inflammatory clip on the social media platform earlier this week, and it’s easily racked up 1 million views as of this morning.
The Post notes that the clip’s authenticity hasn’t been confirmed, but the undated clip shows the seven-time Grammy winner appearing to use the derogatory term for people of Chinese descent.
Reps for Eilish did not immediately respond to the media request for comment, but the clip, which is making its way around multiple social media platforms with hashtags like #billieeilishcancelled should be addressed sooner than later.
