Throughout the years, Birdman has been referred to as many different nicknames. However, the Cash Money Records founder recently revealed he is officially changing his legal name.
Earlier this week, Birdman announced on social media that he’s changing his legal name in 2023. The rapper’s name is currently Bryan Williams but will be legally known as Bryan Brooks in the upcoming new year.
“In February 2023, I won’t be Williams no more. I’ll be Bryan Christopher Brooks,” he explained. “He a Patterson, I’m a Williams. 2023 I’m changing my name.”

Birdman explained that he was initially born with the last name, Brooks. But after his father removed him from foster care, his name was changed to Williams.
“I was born Bryan Brooks,” he added. “My momma died and my daddy came and got me out the foster home and I became a Williams. I love him with every piece of my soul, but 2023 I want to die Bryan Brooks. Not saying I’m about to die, I’m just saying ima change my name to Bryan Brooks in 2023. February 2023, I won’t be Williams no more. I’ll be Bryan Brooks.”
The change doesn’t come as a surprise to Birdman’s fans, seeing as he has gone by several names throughout his career. Just to drop a few names, Birdman is commonly know as Baby, B, Bubba, and the Number 1 Stunna.
