Instead of getting slimy paint, a birthday girl in Georgia was shocked to find bags of weed stashed in her toy box.
A girl in Georgia’s Spalding County opened up her new toys on her birthday. One of the toys was labeled SlimyGloop Squishy Chums, but when the girl opened the box, it appeared the toy had been replaced with some Mary Jane. Fox 5 Atlanta reports the box contained three layers of bags wrapped around a pound of weed.
“It did not contain what box said it contained,” said the girl’s father. “My daughter’s reaction was dad I got scammed I got a bunch of leaves.” Afterward, the father called the Spalding County Sheriff’s Office.
The gift came from a family friend who bought the toy from a store called Found Fortunes in Fayette County. The news outlet reports the store buys inventory at auctions and re-sells it. Police say there is no way to track where the weed came from.
But, police say this isn’t the first situation like this, the business often comes across drugs in packages, at least several times a year. When it does, they turn them in. In the meantime, the father of the birthday girl wants to know who is responsible.
“Whoever done it knew what they were doing. I think they need to be stopped. This shouldn’t be happening, no child should open this up as a gift,” he said, Fox 5 Atlanta reports.
