The siblings of the late Nipsey Hussle aren’t taking no for an answer when it comes to guardianship over the rapper’s 10-year-old daughter Emani.
Nipsey’s sister Samantha Smith, recently filed court documents to expedite temporary guardianship of Emani, but a judge denied the request, citing there was no “urgency demonstrated for granting” the guardianship before the original hearing on May 14th.
Now, Nipsey’s brother Samiel Asghedom, aka Blacc Sam, has also filed a declaration ahead of the hearing in support of his sister being granted guardianship of Emani. Reportedly, most of the paperwork is heavily redacted, but the family hopes Sam’s statements can give the judge a change of heart.
According to The Blast, Nipsey’s family believes Emani’s mother, Tanisha is unable to offer a stable home environment for Emani, especially as the sole parent now that Nipsey has passed away. Smith’s initial declaration for guardianship stated that she has “always been a presence in Emani’s life and along with the rest of Emani’s paternal family has assisted in her care.”
Tanisha has yet to publicly respond to the request of guardianship.
