Black Doctor Shares Racists Comments She’s Received From Patients In a Now Viral TikTok: “Are You Certain You’re Not the Nurse or Cleaner” [Video]

A Black doctor has gone viral for her TikTok, describing the many racial terms patients have called her.

Dr. Yaa Oheema, who works in a South London emergency room, said that patients of other races often ask her if she is a nurse or the custodian. Oheema says despite having her doctor’s lanyard and identification, some patients insist that she does not hold the position.

In the video, she revealed one individual telling her that “they let anyone become doctors” while another demanded to speak to “the actual doctor,” not believing that Oheema is indeed the physician.

The 26-year-old who hails from Southwark said the abuse often reduces her to tears. She attributed much of it to working in the ER and patients becoming frustrated at the nature of their medical emergencies. Oheema also shared that most of the racist attacks are from older white patients. Her TikTok comments were flooded with people astonished by the nasty remarks.
