The Golden Globes has released its list of nominees!
On Thursday (Dec. 6), the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s annual ceremony announced the nominations for the 2019 Golden Globe Awards.
Films like “BlackPanther,” “BlacKkKlansman,” “If Beale Street Could Talk,” “Bohemian Rhapsody” and “A Star Is Born” are on the list for Best Drama Motion Picture. For Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture (Drama) Glenn Close (“The Wife”), Lady Gaga (“A Star Is Born”), and Nicole Kidman (“Destroyer”) are in competition with Melissa Mccarthy (“Can You Ever Forgive Me?”) and Rosamund Pike (“A Private War”).
For Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture John David Washington (“BlackKklansman”) (Drama), Bradley Cooper (“A Star Is Born”) Willem Dafoe (“At Eternity’s Gate”), Lucas Hedges (“Boy Erased”) and Rami Malek (“Bohemian Rhapsody”) will battle it out.⠀⠀
Spike Lee is up for Best Director (BlacKkKlansman), and Regina King will fight for the Best Supporting Actress (Motion Picture) title. Opposite of King, Mahershala Ali is nominated for Best Supporting Actor (“Green Book”), and Donald Glover is nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a TV series (Musical or Comedy) for his role in “Atlanta.” Regina King was also nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her part in “Seven Seconds.” Meanwhile, Thandie Newton was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Series, Limited Series or Motion Picture Made for Television for her work in “Westworld.”
