In less than a month, ABC’s hit series, “Black-ish,” will return for its fifth season and 96th episode. About four weeks later, The Johnson family, led by Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross’ character’s Dre and Bow, will honor the late great pop legend, Prince.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the hit comedy series will celebrate its 100th episode with a special tribute to the “Purple Rain” icon.
In collaboration with Prince’s estate, the episode will include songs like “Kiss,” “When Doves Cry,” “Let’s Go Crazy,” and others, to be incorporated in a music component similar to the show’s season 4 premiere.
Interestingly enough, one of the show’s teen stars already shares a special connection to Prince, the publication reports, as her father was the legend’s longtime photographer. In fact, according to Yara Shahidi, her family’s relationship with the singer contributed to their importance of “creative experiences, work relationships and personal relationships.”
