Black Lives Matter Founder Patrisse Cullors Reveals LAPD Killed Her Cousin Earlier This Month

Black Lives Matter founder Patrisse Cullors revealed her cousin was killed by the LAPD.

On Sunday, Cullors shared some unfortunate news on Instagram about one of her close relatives. According to Cullors, her cousin Keenan Anderson was killed by the Los Angeles Police Department last week.

In the post, Cullors says Anderson was killed after getting physical with the officers involving a taser in Venice, California.

“LAPD has killed three people this year. One of them is my family member. Keenan deserves to be alive right now, his child deserves to be raised by his father. Keenan we will fight for you and for all of our loved ones impacted by state violence. I love you,” Cullors wrote.

The police report states authorities arrived to a car crash scene that Anderson had been a part of. He was then asked a series of questions by officers when they called for backup to determine if the incident was a result of a DUI.

However, the document claims Anderson tried to run away from the scene and was “exhibiting erratic behavior.” To add, the report says police used “taser, bodyweight, firm grips, and joint locks to overcome his resistance” once he was captured.

Anderson was later taken to a Santa Monica hospital for his injuries but was later pronounced dead after suffering cardiac arrest.

A GoFundMe account has been set up for Anderson’s son since then. The donations will be set aside to secure a future for his son once he gets of age. The description section of the page says Anderson loved and adored her son.
