Napa Valley’s first black-owned winery, Brown Estate, is the latest company to team up with Delta Airline’s domestic flights.
Carlyne Scott is a representative of Delta’s black community business leaders, and it was her idea to honor Black History Month by combining Black Estate wines with the airline. It was later decided to keep the business on the list for the long haul.
Delta’s Master Sommelier Andrea Robinson was the go-to source to pick out which bottle would be featured. It was the 2017 Betelgeuse Sauvignon Blanc and the 2017 Chaos Theory that earned their keep on the 2019-2020 winter wine list.
The airline announced that the company would celebrate the business deal with a complimentary wine tasting during a flight from San Francisco to New York flight.
President Doreen Brown and Winemaker David Brown expressed their excitement over partnering with the airline that prides itself on supplying diversity.
“We are delighted to partner with Delta Air Lines,” said Deneen Brown in a statement “Delta’s all-in commitments to the spirit of inclusion and to their wine program are perfectly aligned with our core values at Brown Estate.”
