ABC Network will air a special Sunday evening commercial-free broadcast of Marvel Studios “Back Panther” tonight, paying special tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman, followed by a special on his life and work.
Boseman, 43, passed away at home on Friday after a private four-year battle with colon cancer.
Boseman’s played King T’Challa in “Back Panther,”, a Marvel hit that centered around Black characters. The film’s all-star cast included Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Forest Whitaker, Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Angela Bassett, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, and Andy Serkis.
The movie will air on ABC from 8 p.m. to 10:20 p.m., followed by “Chadwick Boseman- A Tribute For A King.” The special will “celebrate Boseman’s life, storied legacy and career, and the cultural imprint he made on- and off-screen,” according to ABC News.
The special will include tributes from celebrities, political figures, and fans.
