Destiny’s Child is one of the most successful girl groups of all time, but fans have recently expressed dissatisfaction with one of their biggest singles, claiming that it contains a message that hasn’t aged well in today’s society.
On Saturday, a Twitter user posted her dislikes of the lyrics to “Cater 2 U,” accompanied by a meme of Erica Dixon making a dubious facial expression.
With over 24,000 retweets and nearly 100,000 likes, the tweet quickly went, viral with many fans baffled at the thought of these lyrics ever being realistic at any point in time.
Beyoncé lost me in the first verse when she said “my life would be purposeless without you” 🥴😂
Then she followed later with “I’ll brush your hair. Put your durag onnnn”
Do you know how particular black men are about their durag tying technique? It’s too much. pic.twitter.com/1ICWemElzT
