BlackBerry OS Devices Are Dead After January 4th

The end of an era is near as BlackBerry announced classic devices running BlackBerry OS 7.1 or earlier, as well as OS 10, will lose key services like phone calls, texting, data and even emergency 9-1-1 access.

This follows the company’s decision to shut down its popular messenger feature and close its app store in 2019.

Experts say the company was doomed after it failed to respond to the popularity and success of the iPhone and its partnership with Andriod underwhelmed customers.
