In October 2014 Oscar Pistorius was sentenced to 5 years in jail for the Valentine’s Day murder of his girlfriend, which a judge ruled an accident. According to South African law he can ask for parole after only 10 months. Well, he’s currently 8 months in and word is he’s been recommended for probation.
According to Barry Bateman of South Africa’s Eye Witness News, Pistorius will become eligible for house arrest as soon as August. Journalist Karyn Maughan of eNCA News in South Africa says that correctional services have confirmed Pistorius has been recommended for release on probation on August 21st.
This may be inappropriate to ask but how exactly will the ankle monitor situation work with his prosthetics?Â
