Six people were injured Sunday when a boat exploded on Lake Lanier in Georgia.Â
WBS-TV reports that according to the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the boat exploded while refueling at a Margaritaville resort’s gas dock around 2:30 p.m. A jet ski drifted away from the fire, spreading it to a nearby dock.Â
Three people were seriously injured during the blast, including two teenagers, aged 16 and 13. The two teens were airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital, and a 39-year-old woman was taken by ambulance.Â
The explosion happened after the body of a 23-year-old missing swimmer was recovered earlier that morning. The swimmer had jumped off of a pontoon boat the day before and never resurfaced.Â
