Bob Dylan has been accused of sexually abusing a 12-year-old girl back in 1965.
In a new lawsuit filed Friday, a plaintiff named “J.C.” claims Dylan groomed, sexually abused, and physically threatened her. The alleged victim claims that Dylan – whose real name is Robert Zimmerman – abused her from April and May 1965. Yahoo! Finance reports the alleged abuse happened in his Chelsea Hotel apartment in New York.
USA Today reports claim Dylan “exploited his status as a musician” to give drugs and alcohol to the alleged victim illegaly. Dylan denied the allegations; his spokesperson said, “the 56-year-old claim is untrue and will be vigorously defended.”
“Dylan’s predatory, sexual and unlawful acts against Plaintiff amounted to a series of harmful and offensive contacts to Plaintiff’s person, all of which were done intentionally by him to her without her consent,” states the lawsuit, which lawyer Daniel W. Isaacs filed.
The woman says the entire ordeal caused her to experience “severe emotional and psychological distress, humiliation, fright, disassociation, anger, depression, anxiety, personal turmoil and loss of faith, a severe shock to her nervous system, physical pain and mental anguish, and emotional and psychological damage.”
