Cardi B and her breakout hit, “Bodak Yellow,” made history on Monday after surpassing 1 billion views on YouTube.
The four-year-old video has become the fastest solo record by a female rapper to achieve this monumental achievement. This is not the first time that “Bodak Yellow” has broken records. Earlier this year, it became the first single by a female rapper to be certified diamond, selling 10 million equivalent units in the U.S. The anthem served as the lead record from Cardi’s Grammy-award winning debut album, “Invasion of Privacy,” which also went on to become the longest-charting debut album by a woman hip-hop artist.
The 28-year-old mother and wife took to Twitter to celebrate her latest win, thanking her fans for their continued support on the music video that skyrocketed her career.

“Bodak Yellow” is not the only Cardi video that has hit 1 billion on YouTube. “I Like It,” alongside Bad Bunny and J Balvin, has also surpassed the milestone and is on track to become her next diamond-certified single.
This latest feat only increased the demand for her highly anticipated sophomore album, which she is in no rush to deliver, despite having recorded 50 songs for it.
Congrats, Cardi B!
