Newly released body camera footage reveals the moments leading up to rapper Travis Scott‘s arrest in Miami Beach this past June. The footage, obtained by NBC6, shows Scott yelling at people on a yacht, leading to his arrest for disorderly intoxication and trespassing.
The incident took place on June 20 at the Miami Beach marina, where police found Scott standing on a dock, reportedly intoxicated, and shouting at people aboard a nearby yacht. Despite officers’ attempts to calm him down, Scott continued to yell, even after being asked to leave. As he walked away, he returned shortly after and began yelling again, disturbing others in the area.
According to the arrest report, Scott responded to officers’ questions about his behavior with, “It’s Miami,” before being handcuffed and taken into custody. He was later released from Miami-Dade County Jail after posting a $650 bond.
Months later, prosecutors decided to drop the disorderly intoxication charge against Scott. However, he still faces a charge of trespassing after warning. Scott’s attorney, Bradford Cohen, maintained that the arrest stemmed from a misunderstanding, emphasizing that no physical altercation took place.
In a lighthearted response to the situation, Scott posted “Lol” on X (formerly Twitter) and humorously edited his mugshot on his Instagram story, adding sunglasses and earbuds. As the legal proceedings continue, Scott’s arraignment has been rescheduled.
