Newly Released Bodycam Footage Shows Attack On D.C. Cop By Capitol Rioters

Newly released bodycam footage from the January 6th attack on a D.C. cop at the U.S. Capitol shows the brutality rioters unleashed.

The shocking footage was shown on Wednesday night’s episode of CNN Tonight With Don Lemon, as Lemon provided some context for the footage to the viewers, noting that the video from DC Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone’s body camera shows the seriousness of a day that many Republicans continue to downplay.

“This is difficult to watch but it is the truth of what happened that day,” Lemon told viewers on  Wednesday night.

Fanone was tased during the chaotic Capitol riot and later fell unconscious. At one point in the footage, you can hear a rioter bragging “I got one!” while Fanone screams. The footage also shows another point, where Fanone tells the aggressive crowd he has children and begs them to let him go.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday, several Republicans spent their time in a House Oversight Committee hearing continuing to defend those who participated in the Capitol riot.
