New Book By Journalist Claims Donald Trump Was Scared Ghislaine Maxwell Would Connect Him To Jeffrey Epstein Sex Abuse Case

Donald Trump allegedly feared that Jeffrey Epstein associate Ghislaine Maxwell would tie him to Epstein’s “sex-abuse scandal.”

On July 2, 2020, the FBI arrested 59-year-old socialite Maxwell in Bradford, New Hampshire, following an investigation into several sex abuse accusations made against her and Epstein. She’s since been charged with trafficking underage girls to be abused by Epstein. According to Newsweek, Ghislaine pleaded not guilty on all counts, and she’s currently in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. She will stay there while she awaits her trial in the fall.

A new book titled Landslide: The Final Days of the Trump Presidency by journalist Michael Wolff claims Trump developed a “sudden interest” in Maxwell at the end of his presidential term. A time when Trump began issuing out several pardons.

An excerpt from Wolff’s book, according to U.K. newspaper The Times, reads: “One ‘oh, s***’ moment involved his [Trump’s] sudden interest in Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein now facing years in prison over allegations of her role in the Epstein sex-abuse scandal. Trump had tried hard to downplay his own long relationship with Epstein.”

It continues:” ‘Has she said anything about me?’ [Trump] openly wondered. ‘Is she going to talk? Will she roll on anybody?'” Wolff goes on: “But pardon talk almost immediately segued to the question of if he should pardon himself: ‘They say I can. Unlimited pardon power.'”

The book doesn’t confirm if there was ever a moment that Trump wanted to or tried to pardon Maxwell. But, he’s mentioned his relationship with Epstein. “I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy. He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side. No doubt about it—Jeffrey enjoys his social life,” said Trump in a 2002 New York magazine interview.
