A 16-year-old Boston girl was arrested on Wednesday after reportedly knocking her school principal unconscious during dismissal in a “very violent” attack.
At Dr. William W. Henderson K-12 Inclusion Schools Upper Campus, witnesses say that the girl punched principal Patricia Lampron in the head and assaulted another staff member.
Before the assault, the student allegedly told the principal and the other staff employees to stop following her.
“This incident is disturbing and completely unacceptable,” Boston Public Schools Superintendent Brenda Cassellius said in a message to the school community. “We want to be clear: Violence of any kind is not tolerated and will not be tolerated in the Boston Public Schools.”
Lampron was said to have been unresponsive for several minutes before being taken to the hospital.
The attack was described as “very violent” by officers.
Before the police came, a couple of school safety officers apprehended the student.
According to authorities, the teen is facing assault and battery charges.
