BoxLunch, the company that hosted an event where Disney influencer Dominique Brown tragically passed away, says they’re “devastated” by her death.
In their first public statement since the incident, BoxLunch expressed their grief over losing their “beloved member,” who brought joy to all whose lives she touched.
“We are devastated by her sudden and tragic passing,” the company wrote in a statement on Instagram on Friday, December 13th. “As we’ve shared with the media, the BoxLunch Collective members, and everyone else we have been in contact with, we will do everything possible to support Dominique’s family, her loved ones, the Collective, and our team members during this painful time.”
The statement also revealed that BoxLunch is conducting an internal investigation into the circumstances surrounding Brown’s death.
“We have not yet received the information we requested from the operators of the event venue to get an accurate and detailed account of the night,” the statement continued. “As we learn more, we plan to share this information with Dominique’s family.”
According to reports from Yahoo! News and the Daily Mail, Brown had asked if there were peanuts in the food and was assured there were none before she ate it and immediately began to feel unwell. Other attendees have also stated that Brown made the organizers aware of her allergies beforehand.
