#BoycottFedEx Trends After Company Fires Two Black Men For Posting A Video Of A White Customer Harassing Them During A Delivery

People are calling for the boycott of delivery company FedEx after two Black employees were fired after posting a video of their confrontation with a racist white man.

According to CNBC, two Georgia FedEx drivers were dropping off a package at a man’s home in Leesburg when the incident occurred. According to one of the drivers, #AntonioBRaswell, the men stopped by to drop the package off, seeing the man was inside his home, they decided to quickly deliver the package. When the homeowner saw one of the drivers drop the package off, he became enraged and ran outside and began harassing the workers.

Via Twitter, Braswell explained that the man began escalating the situation by recording the men, cursing them out and threatening to whoop their “Black asses,” and told his wife to call the police. The men said they had apologized, but still, the man continued to harass them. The drivers say they started to drive off, but the white couple yelled: “f*ck y’all.”That’s when the men turned around, stopped the truck, and started recording the situation. When officers from the Leesburg Police Department arrived, both sides told their stories, but the homeowner started lying on the men, saying,  “They look like they would’ve broke into my house while my wife is there,” according to Braswell. “The white dude was lying the whole time,” Braswell said in a Twitter post.

The men posted and removed the video initially, but after they were fired, the men reposted it. “Update FedEx called and told me to take down this video and fired both of us Today .. I’m reposting this video because people like him doesn’t matter white or any race should never disrespect essential workers putting their lives in jeopardy especially with this COVID-19,” Braswell wrote.

Late Wednesday, FedEx released a statement saying the two men were hired by an independent service provider. The company said that the contractor has confirmed that “the drivers are no longer providing service on behalf of FedEx Ground.” FedEx added that it would “be conducting a thorough investigation into these claims.” “While we conduct this investigation, FedEx will provide employment for these drivers,” the company said.
