A shocking video of a woman setting her husband on fire and ultimately killing him is making its rounds.
The tragic incident was recorded on surveillance video at a store in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil last Monday. Ana Maria Paixao is captured on video walking into the stock room holding a bottle of fluid as she approaches her husband, Andre Chapeta, sitting at a table.
She douses Chapeta with the liquid before using a lighter to set him on fire. The husband jumps up from the table and dashes out of the room and outside into the street.
Chapeta can be seen collapsing to the ground.
He was taken to a local hospital, where he died Friday after being treated for severe burns over 92 percent of his body, TMZ reported.
Paixao was arrested on Thursday but released on a technicality after a judge failed to sign the arrest warrant.
Brazil news outlet G1 reported that Paixao appeared to be motivated by “jealousy.”
