On CBS This Morning, Gayle King sat down with Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend Kenneth Walker to talk about what happened the night when Taylor was killed.
In the interview, Kenneth tells Gayle that on the night of Taylor’s death they were sleeping when they heard a loud knocking at the door. Louisville police had come to raid her home looking for a drug suspect and money.
Kenneth says that he and Breonna both asked who was at the door but police never identified themselves. He fired one shot at the officers with a legally licensed gun because he thought they were intruders.
Gayle asked Walker, “who did you think was at the door?” He said he “didn’t have a clue who was at the door.” He added, “Why would I think it’s the police, they have no reason to be coming here.”
Witnesses say that the police didn’t identify themselves but one of the witnesses has in fact changed their story and says that officers did identify themselves that night. Kenneth Walker has had the same consistent story since that night.
