Brian Laundrie’s family has decided not to have a traditional funeral for him. Instead, they will incinerate his remains.
The family’s attorney, Steve Bertolino, confirmed that Brian’s parents will skip a casket-style service but will have a cremation. His ashes will be given to Chris and Roberta Laundrie after authorities are done examining his remains, TMZ reported.
Brian was a suspect for the murder of his girlfriend Gabby Petito. His family has endured nonstop chaos at their home—media outlets, protestors, and people leaving items all in memory of Gabby.
Police have gone to the location several times. The family placed a “No Trespassing” sign in the yard.
