Brian McKnight isn’t holding back after scoring a major legal win against his ex-wife, Julie McKnight. The R&B veteran took to social media this week to announce he’d been awarded an $8.8 million judgment in a defamation case, closing one chapter in his long-running family feud.

In a video posted online, McKnight appeared cheerful and confident, puffing on a cigar while reflecting on the court’s decision.
“It’s been a long journey getting to this day: October 16th, 2025,” he said. “But we are here in the English countryside about an hour and a half outside of London. And the verdict is in.”
The singer continued, “Trying to ruin my name and trying to bring harm to my family in a book filled with lies equals $8.8 million dollars. And this is just the beginning.” McKnight warned that anyone else who helped spread false claims would soon be hearing from his lawyers.
To drive his point home, McKnight played what he claimed was an old voicemail from Julie about their late son, Niko. The clip ended with the star dancing in celebration.
Julie has not yet responded to his claims.
