Britney Spears may be dropping some piping hot tea in her memoir, but the pop star is adamant that she is not trying to harm anyone.
Spears recently stated that she would not be doing much of a press run surrounding her book, “The Woman In Me,” However, the few excerpts that have surfaced online are enough to sell itself. We now know that Spears had an abortion during her early 2000s relationship with Justin Timberlake. She also cheated on him with dancer and choreographer Wade Robson, and Timberlake also cheated on her before they split in March 2002. Even with such explosive claims, Spears maintains she doesn’t want to hurt anyone.
“My book’s purpose was not to offend anyone by any means!!! That was me then.…that is in the past!!! I don’t like the headlines I am reading…that’s exactly why I quit the business 4 years ago!!!” Spears wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement.

For months, outlets have reported that Timberlake was nervous about what Spears may reveal in her book, which will be released on October 24th. While we now know that infidelity at least played some role in their breakup, Spears has alluded to that being only a tiny part of her journey.
“Hopefully, I can enlighten people who feel particularly alone in most cases or hurt or misunderstood!!! My motive for this book was not to harp on my past experiences, which is what the press is doing, and it’s dumb and silly!!!” Spears added.
