Another major pop catalog has officially changed ownership. Britney Spears has reportedly signed off on a deal that hands over her music catalog rights, marking a significant business move in her post-conservatorship chapter.

Paperwork reviewed by TMZ shows the agreement was finalized on December 30, with Spears transferring her ownership stake to music publisher Primary Wave. The financial details were not disclosed publicly. However, sources familiar with the deal described it as a “landmark deal,” placing it in the same conversation as the estimated $200 million catalog sale completed by Justin Bieber in 2023.

Those close to Spears say she feels good about the decision. Since finalizing the sale, she has reportedly been focused on personal time and reconnecting with her children.

The catalog reportedly includes records that defined multiple eras of pop music. Early-career hits like 1999’s “Baby One More Time” and “(You Drive Me) Crazy” are said to be part of the deal, along with later singles such as “I’m a Slave 4 U,” “Gimme More,” “Piece of Me,” and “Hold It Against Me,” among other classics.

Primary Wave has not publicly commented on the acquisition. Complex has reached out for confirmation, and updates may follow.

Spears now joins a growing list of artists who have chosen to sell their catalogs rather than rely solely on long-term royalty payments. That list includes Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, Neil Young, Shakira, Sting, Phil Collins, and Stevie Nicks.
