Britney Spears assured her fans not to worry after the police conducted a wellness check due to her recent videos featuring what she now says were fake knives.
“I know I spooked everyone with the last post, but these are fake knives that my team rented from Hand Prop shop in LA,” she wrote on Instagram Thursday.
“These are not real knives. No one needs to worry or call the police. I’m trying to imitate one of my favorite performers, Shakira … a performance I was inspired by !!!” she added.
“Cheers to us bad girls who aren’t afraid to push boundaries and take risks!” she concluded.
Police conducted a wellness check on Britney Spears following a tip from someone close to her, as confirmed by Page Six.

Captain Dean Worthy from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, who has prior experience handling incidents related to the pop star, responded to the call.
“Somebody close to Britney had seen the video posted on social media, where she’s dancing and twirling with knives in her hands, and they were really concerned for her mental well-being,” Worthy said.
When officers arrived at Britney Spears’ home in Thousand Oaks, California, they communicated with her security team through the intercom.
According to police, the security team said Spears was “fine” and “nothing was going on.”
Worthy said, “They didn’t want to let the officer in to see her physically.”
