Britney Spears Will Not Face Charges After Housekeeper Accused Her of Slapping Phone Out of Her Hand

On Wednesday, the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office announced that Britney Spears would not face charges after an employee accused her of battery.

Spears’ housekeeper filed a report with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department for alleged misdemeanor battery, claiming the 39-year-old pop star slapped her phone out of her hand during an argument on August 16th.

Prosecutors declined to press charges against Spears based “upon insufficient evidence that a crime had occurred and the lack of injury to the housekeeper or significant damage to the phone,” a news release from the DA’s office stated.
