Brooke Hogan made her decision loud and clear—long before her father, wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, passed away this month. The daughter of the WWE legend took the rare step in 2023 of asking to be removed from his will entirely, citing deep personal reasons and a desire to avoid what she called the “financial mess” tied to his estate.
Now, following Hulk Hogan’s death from cardiac arrest at 71, Brooke’s absence from his public WWE tribute has reignited public conversation around their strained relationship.
Sources close to the family confirmed that Brooke’s removal from the will was her decision—not his. She reportedly didn’t trust people in his inner circle and chose peace of mind over money. Though she declined any major inheritance, she is set to receive a small portion from a life insurance trust for the benefit of her children.
Following the 10-bell salute in his honor at WWE’s Monday Night RAW, Brooke released a heartfelt—but carefully worded—statement. She explained that while her bond with her father was “deeply spiritual,” the physical and emotional distance had been growing for years. She did not provide details but mentioned that she named one of her newborn twins after him—showing a private tribute that contrasted with the public one she skipped.
The rift between Brooke and her father became painfully public in 2015, when leaked recordings revealed Hulk Hogan using racial slurs and expressing disgust about Brooke dating a Black man. “I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f*** some n*****… I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n***** worth a hundred million dollars!” he said in the recording. The backlash was swift: WWE terminated its relationship with him, and Hogan later issued a public apology, though the damage to his relationship with Brooke was evident.
Despite efforts to mend the bond over the years, Brooke kept her distance. Her decision to remove herself from his will was seen by many as a symbolic final break. And when the world came together to mourn Hulk Hogan, Brooke’s absence underscored that for her, closure didn’t require a spotlight.
In her words, their connection was “beyond this world,” but clearly not fit for the public stage.
