Things are looking rough for Bulls star Derrick Rose. Yesterday Rose reported with pain to his right knee. An MRI has revealed a medial meniscus tear. Following the diagnosis, the Bulls announced Rose will undergo surgery on his knee. In an attempt to elongate Rose’s career in the NBA, they have decided to fix the meniscus tear instead of cutting the damaged part out.
It seems as if Derrick Rose has been sidelined for much of his career in the NBA. A timetable for his return will be determined after surgery but it’s most likely he won’t make it back this season. The torn meniscus is the same injury he sustained in November 2013 against the Portland Trailblazers.
Rose has been met with an outpour of support from his peers. Lebron James tweeted his encouragement last night after hearing the news, “Man feel bad for D.Rose! Keep your head up homie and stay strong G,” he posted. Paul George followed, “Damn man send one up for D Rose.. Hate this keeps coming back but like before it won’t keep you down!”
