Burger King celebrates Pride Month with a new burger that has “two equal buns.”
Burger King has introduced its new Pride Whopper, which is a Whopper that’s kept together by either two top buns or two bottom buns. The new burger was created to celebrate Pride Month and to promote “equal love and equal rights,” said the burger joint in an Instagram post, CNN reports.
The company added that the two buns are meant “to put a smile on our faces and to remind us to treat each other with respect and peace.”
It didn’t take long for people online to share their feelings about the burger. Some called the move performative, and others thought it was hilarious.
“As a gay person, this is the funniest thing I have ever seen and I don’t think I’ll ever stop laughing,” said one Twitter user. “Burger King Austria made a Pride burger that’s either two tops or two bottoms… what in straight hell?” Wrote another Twitter user.
